The HBOS Youth Orchestra is excited to welcome Helen to our string section for Term 2 . Helen writes

” Hi, my name is Helen, I am an exchange student from the beautiful town of Heidelburg in Germany. I’m sixteen years old and I’ll be staying in Hawkes Bay until the end of July were I am attending Havelock North High School. I’m taking further violin lessons there with Mrs Melville and she encouraged me to join the Youth Orchestra. I really like the atmosphere here and enjoy playing with the others. I can’t wait for the AGM concert.

I started playing violin when I was 5 years old, my cousin played also and I just liked listening to it. I also play the piano and love sports so getting time to practice the violin is sometime a challenge. I’m looking to make more time to practice this term and really looking forward to playing with the Hawkes Bay Youth Orchestra.”
