The Youth Orchestra is for more advanced players, introducing them to the challenges of symphonic repertoire as we prepare for both formal and informal performances. The boost to sight-reading skills along the way is significant!
For many years we’ve worked with the Wellington Youth Sinfonietta on a biennial Festival of Youth Orchestras, taking turns to host the event in different cities.
Another regular highlight is our December concert. Recently we began a collaboration with the NZ China Friendship Society, delighting in music making across shared styles.
Membership to the Youth Orchestra is by audition.
